Lorena Wiebes of The Netherlands got her team-mate Lotte Kopecky, the reigning world champion, to chase down Italian champion Elisa Longo Borghini who went clear with 2km to go to win Sanremo Women in style. Her compatriot Marianne Vos settled for second place on the via Roma while Noemi Ruegg from Switzerland crossed the line in third position.
